Family Carers Ireland want carers to know they have the support they need to care safely, to make it less of a battle and to know they are not alone. They are a national charity supporting the 500,000+ family and young carers across the country who care for loved ones such as children or adults with additional needs, physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people, those with palliative care needs or those living with chronic illnesses, mental health challenges or addiction.

Their vision is an Ireland in which family carers and young carers are properly recognised, supported and empowered. Their mission is to highlight the contribution of family carers to Irish society and to improve the lives of family carers throughout the country. They believe that no one should have to care alone.

The Challenge:

Family Carers Ireland wanted to provide training and support to all those people who care so much for others, but may not take the time to care for themselves.   Taking the time to learn about self-care is often overlooked by carers, who tend to prioritise the needs of others before their own.

The Solution:

In partnership, we created a blended eLearning programme that provides information, motivation and inspiration for carers to look after their own well-being. The course involves a blended approach of virtual delivery with the guidance of an specialised self-care instructor and diverse online learning modules.
