Creating an eLearning course to support carers' wellness and mental health.
Product & Service
Provide self-care training and support to family carers.
Family Carers Ireland want carers to know they have the support they need to care safely, to make it less of a battle and to know they are not alone. They are a national charity supporting the 500,000+ family and young carers across the country who care for loved ones such as children or adults with additional needs, physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people, those with palliative care needs or those living with chronic illnesses, mental health challenges or addiction.
Their vision is an Ireland in which family carers and young carers are properly recognised, supported and empowered. Their mission is to highlight the contribution of family carers to Irish society and to improve the lives of family carers throughout the country. They believe that no one should have to care alone.
Some elements of the learning experience
This dedicated self-care awareness programme for Family Carers Ireland increases the awareness of carers’ wellness and mental health. People taking the course can learn about important personal skills such as taking time to connect with other people, finding ways to be active every day, and the relevance of continuing to learn new skills.
This course is publicly available, and the content was developed by Bryan Nolan, a grief and loss specialist. To take the course, please click here.
