DEVELOPING AN lms FOR ucd
Innovation Academy UCD is a unit of University College Dublin, and was established through the Innovation Alliance between University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin.
Since then it has expanded from its initial focus on working with PhDs. Today the Academy works with undergraduates, postgraduates, and educators, and with organisations and partners beyond academia.
THE CHALLENGE
The Academy wanted to create an online Innovation programme, to be used as a fully online programme and as a supplement to existing on campus programmes. They needed a Learning Management System (LMS) that could manage teams within classes and provide a video gallery where students could upload and view their assignments.
THE SOLUTION
Cobblestone worked together with the Academy to provide a customised LMS solution that met their complex needs. The content is versatile and involves 12 elearning modules which include bespoke video, filmed at UCD and on location around Dublin. Interactive content and quizzes and online discussion fully integrated with each course ensures active participation throughout the experience.
